Why do we need to be literate in media and information

It is important for me to know how to use the media correctly. It is very important, for example, when we are searching for assignments  and projects ,we do not just get information that we are not sure  if it's really true, sometimes we have to research it once more so just to verify that our research is correct. Also products which is sold online, it is important that we know how to conduct research about their product if it's safe to use or is it not a fake one so that we will not be a victim of scam. We have to have enough knowledge these days  especially the teenagers who are so addicted on Facebook, those persons creating  relationships with the use of  social media without knowing the real personality of the person they're chatting  .And because of that many teenagers nowadays are victimized by sexual harassment or being raped  .And we should always remember that, in our generation today media is the one we use to communicate to others instantly. We as a user of using media we need to be responsible in doing it. Without media we cannot update in what happening in our environment.
